Trying to enter the sun and wind energy business
« on: June 10, 2011, 07:50:38 AM »
Hi Folks
I started using this forum because I wanted to make a milling machine and I found many helpful posts.
I did plenty of research on the subject but I did not make a machine because I didnt see the potential
to make money from that.
Now my intreste has shifted to solar energy and wind energy because it looks like we are headed for
a major crisis and it is partly related to oil.
So now I am back to the drawing board and I am trying to learn the basics and  main terms used in this field.
My objective is to earn a living from solar energy and wind energy.

http://partsonsale.com/solar_air_conditioning_systems.htm
I found this and they are selling colling systems that work with solar energy
This is an example of what I would like to offer to people
I didnt contact this company to for details or price which is important for everyone.

Heliostat is a term I just discoved and I it seems like a sun tracker
but I think they are 2 different things and maybe someone can explain

I would like to have a product line that I can offer people.
I would also like to build a system from scratch to have a better understanding of things
I would like to build a sun tracker or a heliostat

Thanks

Hi gocnc,

There are only a handful of active users on this forum which have an interest in solar energy, and as far as I know they are all just hobbyists. This forum is only really meant for backyard tinkerers, so you won't likely find a lot of volunteers to give you information on starting a solar business as I don't think anyone here has done it themselves.

Your best bet, I think, would be to see if you can find a company who is willing to hire you so that you can learn from them. That way you can build your reputation as a solar energy expert. :)

Take Care,
Gabriel

Hi Gabriel
Thanks for your help
I need all the ideas i can get.
My profession is jewelery and at the moment that field is bad and as a matter of fact most fields are doing bad and I am beginning to think that we might be headed for a depression.
I would like  to be optimistic but we have to look at the situation as it is.
Working in the field of solar and wind energy would be good but I don't know if I would be qualified to do anything that required skill work.
I mean I know a lot of things but it might not help.
I have built a web site with all that I can do.
http://kilha.com/

This is a refining system and I can teach businesses how to refine precious metals
http://kilha.com/Raffinage/index.htm

But the thing is the revenue is not enough.

I am going to e-mail companies in the solar and wind businesses and ask them if they would need to have someone like me work for them or if they would like to work with me.
I do like to hear opinions from people
Thanks
