G'day from Australia
« on: July 16, 2013, 04:56:52 AM »
Hi All,
I'm from NSW, Australia and stumbled onto this site while researching tracking methods for my latest project: a large-ish parabolic trough of 40 sq meters, heat storage for a low temperature differential stirling engine which I believe (hope!) can run during daylight hours and "bank" enough thermal energy to continue running beyond lights out and bedtime.
Gabriel (and contributors) you are doing great things here with your willingness to share and help. As I currently know little about arduino and nothing about stepper motors I'm going to need it!

I'm a renewable energy nut, tree hugging, greeny currently building a large-ish vertical axis wind turbine and recently completed a 2.2 meter diameter paraboloid dish that serves as solar cooker, oven and hot water supply.

Hello Darcy, and welcome to the forums!

That sounds like quite a project. Definitely one of the most ambitious I've heard on this forum. It will be neat to see what you come up with.

I would love to see your solar dish.  Any pictures to share?
